The best time to visit the Statue of Liberty

Timing is key. The best time to visit is early in the morning, preferably on the first ferry of the day. This will help you avoid the crowds that tend to gather later in the day. The park, which includes Ellis Island and Liberty Island, is open from 9:00 AM until 5:45 PM daily. It’s recommended to budget at least two hours for your visit to the Statue of Liberty and an additional hour if you plan to visit Ellis Island as well. To ensure access and avoid disappointment, it’s highly advised to book your tickets in advance.

There are three simple ways to get from the New York Marriott Downtown to the statue. The two miles are easily covered on foot, especially in the spring or fall when temperatures are pleasant. Subway stations are also a breeze or you can hop on the ferry. The Marriott has views of the statue from only some rooms, so if that’s a deal breaker, contact the hotel for more information on what is available.

This is a good option if you’re willing to do a little legwork. The hotel offers super competitive rates, especially if you’re visiting during the shoulder season and mid-week. That’s mainly due to its size. It’s spread over 38 floors with 506 guest rooms and seven suites. You’ll mainly find corporate travelers here, but if you’re an individual traveler who has brand alliance, or want something reliable next to major city sights, this is a stable option.
