Not so long ago, the word expat was synonymous with being a corporate employee relocated by his company to a different country. In the last year, however, we’ve seen a different type of expat become more and more frequent: digital nomads. Many people decide to ‘live the dream’ of having a remote job and work from anywhere in the world. According to InterNations’ Expat Insider survey, there are an estimated 57 million expatriates across the globe.
But, as the survey found out, some countries are better than others to become an expat. InterNations used the results of the survey to rank 65 destinations worldwide on “how expat residents feel towards their home away home.” They studied 40 different factors – safety, family life, travel, finances, etc. and came up with the following ranking.
