Part of the draw of traveling to Dubai is the city’s legendary skyline, headlined by the 2,717-foot Burj Khalifa. It makes sense to simply become part the skyline — which is exactly what will happen once the Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai, opens in April. Each of the 259 rooms and suites will feature an iconic view of either the sea or the skyline. Rooms are set to palatial standards, with well-trimmed living spaces and king-size beds lined with luxury linens. Three restaurant concepts will open with the hotel with cuisines spanning Greece, China, and Italy.
The hotel will rise just shy of 1,000 feet. If you’ve stayed in a Mandarin Oriental property, you’re familiar with the brand’s blend of high-end, tech-forward hospitality and charm — and the Downtown Dubai location will follow suit. If you’ve got the cash, you can even stay forever: the tower will feature 224 exclusive residences.

Type of traveler who will love this hotel: Culinary aficionados
Price: From $160 per night
While the city of Härnösand, located on the east coast of Sweden, might be off the radar to most, it should be earmarked by travelers in search of new food and drink experiences. Härnösand is less than six miles away from the village of Dala, home to Hernö Gin distillery. The Hernö Gin Hotel in Härnösandl will honor the local gin with an on-site gin bar and restaurant that will focus on pairing Hernö Gin with avant-garde Nordic cuisine. The Hernö Gin Hotel will also organize “Gin Weekends” when guests can take part in a tour of the distillery followed by a gin tasting, a gin-inspired three-course dinner at the hotel restaurant, and gin cocktails at the hotel’s bar.
But even if you’re not into gin, there’s plenty to enjoy at the Hernö Gin Hotel. The on-site Stillery spa, with its panoramic views of the Sodra Straight, features a multitude of amenities for a truly Nordic wellness experience, including indoor and outdoor saunas, a steam room, a hot tub, a cold pool, and a hot pool. Guests will also have the opportunity to participate in aufguss, a form of group thermotherapy that takes place in a sauna. Why it’s notable: Sweden’s first Relais & Châteaux hotel housed in a former 1875 residence
Type of traveler who will love this hotel: Culturally curious, money-is-no-object travelers
Price: From $233 per night
The first hotel in Stockholm to have been admitted to the very selective Relais & Château association, the Stockholm Stadshotell has an intimate and quiet luxury ethos — you won’t find elaborate pieces of furniture, garish colors, or tacky gold accents here. Housed in a national heritage site dating back to 1875, the hotel comprises 32 rooms and suites, all of which have been designed, decorated, and furnished with comfort, elegance, and quality in mind. While all the rooms and suites are unique, they all feature calming and soft tones, furniture made by local artisans from natural materials, and luxurious Italian linens.
There is one bar and two restaurants on site: one casual bistro with a menu that offers vegan and vegetarian options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and one more formal dinner venue, Matsal, located in the building’s former chapel. Both restaurant menus change daily and focus on seasonal ingredients. Like any luxury hotel worth its salt, the Stockholm Stadshotell has a wellness area where guests can enjoy some typically Scandinavian amenities, including a sauna, sensory shower, and an ice bath.
Why it’s notable: Resort-like facilities in Barcelona’s up-and-coming Port Fòrum
Type of traveler who will love this hotel: Family vacationers, culinary aficionados, the culturally curious
Price: From $410 per night
Barcelona is incredibly busy in the summer. However, one of the more under-the-radar areas of the city is the waterfront district of Port Fòrum, and it makes for a conveniently uncrowded base just 15 minutes away from the city center and 20 minutes from the airport. Here, you’ll find SLS’s new hotel, which offers resort-like amenities (three pools surrounded by cabanas and loungers, plus six restaurants and bars) and 471 rooms and suites. Many accommodations have balconies and terraces overlooking the marina and the Mediterranean Sea.
Why it’s notable: A private, full-service property that brings jaw-dropping luxuries to the famous ski town
Type of traveler who will love this hotel: Money-is-no-object travelers
Price: On request
Ultima Collection started in 2016 with the Ultima Hotel Gstaad in Switzerland and has grown into a curated collection of luxury chalets, villas, residences, and boutique hotels in Europe. Each property is designed to match the destination, with top-notch service being a defining feature. The latest addition opening in March is the Ultima Promenade Gstaad. It’s hard to beat the draw of the location: just a short distance from the main ski slopes near the Alpine town in the winter, with plenty of hiking trails to see the famous mountain views. Adding to the draws is the fact that Gstaad is a cheese-focused town where you’ll find some of the best fondue in the world (there’s even an annual dairy-filled celebration around when the cows come down from their summer pastures ahead of winter).
Ultima Promenade Gstaad will be worth the trip even if you just want to stay on the property, though. The chalet has a cinema, private disco, and party-ready bar. Up to 20 people can stay in the eight-room, eight-bath accommodation. Views from the wrap-around terrace are showstopping throughout the year, while two large living rooms leave plenty of space to bring the party inside. Then, relax in the sauna, hammam, or whirlpool and massage room. Cold plungers don’t need to wait for winter (or go back outside for their fix), thanks to the snow shower and cool pool. This being part of Ultima Collection, everything is taken care of, from the meals to the reservations to fitness trainers.

Type of traveler who will love this hotel: City lovers
Price: From $230 per night
San Francisco is one of the most popular city destinations in the United States for travelers from around the world. The new Timbri Hotel, the first of Hilton’s Curio Collection to open in the city, is designed to bring nature into the local city environment with a “Sanctuary in the City” concept. What does that look like beyond the marketing words? Greenhouse-inspired architecture and plant-friendly design, plenty of natural light and city views in each room thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows, soaking tubs, and minibars filled with goods from San Francisco companies. The art showcases a rotating selection of work from Bay Area artists, and design details inside and out match the historic architecture in this part of the city. The Rise Over Run rooftop bar and solarium on the 12th floor is Mediterranean-inspired, while the Dark Bar on the lobby level has cozy booths to enjoy small plates and top-notch cocktails as the fireplace roars. Timbri’s location in the Mid-Market neighborhood makes it an ideal base for exploring the nearby Union Square and SoMa. And since it’s a part of Hilton Honors, members can earn and use loyalty points for their stay.
Why it’s notable: The first new hotel in Palm Beach in four years
Type of traveler who will love this hotel: Money-is-no-object travelers, the culturally curious
Price: From $849 per night
Bringing color and energy to Palm Beach, Palm House is seconds from the sand of Royal Palm Way. It’s the inaugural hotel in the US from London-based L+R Hotel’s Iconic Luxury Hotels collection. The bespoke retreat invites guests who love sophisticated, old-school glamor. A palette of pastel pinks, coral, and green warmed with limestone arches and marble floors set the tone of the 79-key hotel, which was reimagined by architects Cooper Carry, the interior design team at Muza Lab, and art consultant Minda Dowling. The Nobu-style restaurant is steered by executive chef de cuisine Jerry Ayala, who created a Japanese menu with a twist of Peruvian ingredients. Afternoons can be spent lounging at the sunken heated pool and patio, where the coral color theme continues, cocktails flow from the Palm Bar, and thoughtful services like Evian Spritzes add a special touch.

Each cabin at the new Wilding Hotels location in Fairbanks has glass walls and a private deck, ensuring guests have views of the surrounding Alaskas landscape by day and a great chance of seeing the aurora borealis by night. Each unit includes a queen or king-size bed with night-sky views, a waterfall shower, an outdoor fire pit, and a private sauna. As romantic as the rooms look, a selling point that makes the hotels a destination in themselves is the bespoke concierge service. When guests book their stays, an expert will reach out to see if they’d like to arrange services like a guided reindeer hike or landscape photography class. Of course, with trails on site and downtown Fairbanks 20 minutes away, there’s plenty to explore on your own without springing for extra activities, too.
Why it’s notable: A whimsical circus theme for a stay unlike any other
Type of traveler who will love this hotel: The culturally curious
Price: From $250 per night
Typically, saying any type of accommodation is a “circus” is a negative. Not so with the new Cirque St. Armands Beachside from Opal Collection. Here, it is just part of embracing the local history and reputation. Sarasota is called the “Circus Capital of the World” thanks to John Ringling making the Florida town the winter home of the Ringling Brothers circus. Guests will find what is sure to be the most elevated circus environment they’ve seen. The design stays true to the theme by blending Art Deco and big top circus tent aesthetics: vintage decor, golden sconces, and show-worthy draperies. The restaurants follow suit with the Ringside restaurant as the centerpiece focusing on Gulf seafood among murals of trapeze artists and velvet-draped booths. Early guests can enjoy the public and private beach spaces just outside the property, while the pool, which will have an elevated deck and private cabanas, as well as the Ringmaster pool bar, opens shortly after in the spring. Don’t forget to complete a stay with a visit to the town’s Ringling Museum.
Why it’s notable: A new property with a deep commitment to local sustainability
Type of traveler who will love this hotel: Family vacationers, sustainability-focused travelers
Price: Price TBA
Turks and Caicos is one of Matador Network’s top places to go in 2025, and new hotel options like Salterra on South Caicos is one of the core reasons why (along with a new direct American Airlines flight that makes it easy to get there from the mainland US). The Marriott Bonvoy Luxury Collection property has a prominent sustainability mindset, with composting, water conservation initiatives, well-adapted landscaping, avian and bonefish conservation programs (Salterra also co-founded the South Caicos Coral Reef Consortium), and history and habitat restoration. More than half of the hotel’s energy needs are met by solar power.
Fine dining at Brine focuses on a seasonal menu and curated wine list, while the views are hard to match at Cobo Bar & Grill on the private beach. Regatta brings British Caribbean vibes to breakfast and dinner with a picturesque second-story terrace. Or just grab a quick bite at the roving pop-up Jack & Jenny’s cart. Regardless of where you eat, everything will be guided by what’s fresh and local. The four pools include a kid-friendly option and a lagoon-style swimming pool, though the pools can be easily overshadowed by the 3,000 feet of white sand beach steps from the property.
Why it’s notable: Kimpton’s first all-inclusive on Mexico’s famous stretch of coastline
Type of traveler who will love this hotel: Family vacationers, wellness wanderers

There will, of course, also be a buffet.
The spa will offer holistic, rejuvenating sessions that channel the vibe of the Riviera Maya. Judging by the renown of Kimpton spas globally, expect to be wowed even if you come in with high expectations. Pools, kayak rentals, yoga classes, group and private excursions — the resort will spare none of it. There’s even a kids club so that parents can escape to the beach for a cocktail sans-distractions. Plus, you can spend and earn IHG points.

Type of traveler who will love this hotel: Adventure enthusiasts, wellness wanderers
Price: From $195 per night
The first Mountain Modern hotel opened in Jackson, Wyoming, in 2017 and quickly became one of the top-rated options in town for a fun place to stay that won’t break the bank. It wouldn’t be surprising to see the same thing happen with Mountain Modern Sedona, especially as it’s likely to bring the same mix of outdoor-focused amenities and mountain modern design as the Jackson property.
Rooms will have custom-built gear walls to store outdoor equipment like backpacks and hiking poles, plus a bike station with tools to keep mountain bikers in shape for hitting Sedona’s popular trails. Optional bunk beds will help groups of friends or families make sure everyone has a place to lay their head, and a welcoming lobby and outdoor fireplaces should ensure plenty of space to socialize. One highlight feature is how welcoming it is to four-legged friends: The hotel will be extremely dog friendly, ensuring your canine travel companion can join you in exploring Sedona’s trails and relaxing in the sunshine when happy hour rolls around.
Why it’s notable: Upscale glamping and camp-inspired amenities near California’s most popular national park
Type of traveler who will love this hotel: Adventure enthusiasts, family vacationers
Price: From $319 per night
Call it a trend if you must, but it’s pretty clear that glamping is here to stay — at least when it comes to hotels in outdoorsy areas. Under Canvas, known for its luxury tented resorts with summer camp-esque amenities near national parks, is opening its first location in California. It sits just 10 minutes from Yosemite National Park’s primary western entrance (Big Oak Flat) and, like the brand’s other locations, will have safari-inspired tents equipped with king-size beds, private decks, and individual bathrooms (rather than shared facilities).
Under Canvas joins other eye-catching options in the Yosemite area (AutoCamp Yosemite is pretty darn fun), and is sure to add its own take on activities, offerings, and programming. As with most Under Canvas Resorts, the Yosemite location will be seasonal, operating between mid-May and the end of October.
