Boston loves its champions. With 39 titles across baseball, football, basketball, and hockey, this city is sports-obsessed. Come 2026, this will surely spill over as a passion roaring just as loud for the World Cup’s soccer stars.

The New England Revolution’s arrival in the 1990s was one of the catalysts that sparked a local soccer boom, but Boston also is home to major Irish, Italian, Brazilian, and other expat communities with deep roots in the sport. This city has always had an undercurrent of support for global football.

When the FIFA World Cup descends on Boston in 2026, fans from around the world will find plenty of room to congregate. Here’s your guide to the best soccer bars in Boston for catching every match.

Where to find the best soccer bars in Boston

Boston is a relatively compact city built around a dense, walkable core with neighborhoods packed closely together. Bars are clustered and plentiful, and you’ll find them in neighborhoods like Allston, Fenway, South End, Seaport, and North End/Faneuil Hall, plus a strong bar corridor through Back Bay.

Drawdown Brewing

In Jamaica Plain, this LGBTQIA+ and women-owned Boston soccer and sports bar is welcoming, lively, and a heck of a good time for sports. They often broadcast women’s soccer and basketball games, but will be offering great World Cup coverage, too. The beers there are fresh and flavorful, with flights available for those on the indecisive side. It’s not normally a super late–night place, though it does vary its hours to accommodate popular matches and tournaments.

Along with World Cup excitement, Drawdown will be a hub for the brand new Boston Legacy FC team in the NWSL (National Women’s Soccer League), whose stadium is set to be completed down the street in 2027.

The Banshee

This Irish bar in Boston’s Dorchester neighborhood is often chock-full of expats cheering on top European soccer teams any time of day, and will be a major hub for World Cup shenanigans. Many English Premiere League fans find camaraderie at this spot alongside lots of other European soccer fans over cold drinks and hearty food. There’s an outdoor patio for sunny match days and other events to enjoy in between games, such as live music and trivia nights.

The Phoenix Landing

Head north of Jamaica Plain and Dorchester to Cambridge, home of Ivy League educations — and major-league World Cup matches. The Phoenix has been famous for years as a place where soccer fans gather around big screens and locals can’t wait for the World Cup to heat up. This bar is open until Boston’s last call (2 AM) and will most likely open early for any morning matches as well. The Phoenix is as close to a traditional pub atmosphere you can get outside Europe.

Caffe Dello Sport North End

If the games are being shown at ungodly early hours, the best place to be is Caffe Dello in the North End or East Boston. The coffee is Italian, strong, and piping hot for early risers. Switch to espresso martinis as the day goes on, and settle in for an afternoon watching matches surrounded by Boston locals.

Both locations are smaller, more intimate spaces than some of the giant Boston soccer bars spread throughout the city, but the crowd is authentic and just as pumped for World Cup games to take over next year. And later in the afternoon, it’s hard to beat a fresh cannoli enjoyed over an international soccer match.

Banners Kitchen & Tap

Steps away from TD Garden (where the Bruins and Celtics play) is Banners, a giant sports bar with an iconic 40-foot screen. Alongside a glowing mecca of sport-showing perfection, there are 30 beers on tap, classic game-day eats, and even Top Golf on site to get in on the sports action in real time.

According to General Manager Nick Montiz, the bar is planning multiple activities around the 2026 World Cup, including an opening match watch party, and a special month-long membership pass that’ll include daily vouchers for drinks and wings.

The Greatest Bar

No list of Boston soccer bars is complete without The Greatest Bar. This spot will transform into a soccer bar haven for the World Cup with ease, as it’s been the place for all Boston sports for years.

Boasting many accolades for being the best place for sports and partying in the city, there are tons of rooms to explore, with Boston sports history memorabilia adorning the walls. Grab a basket of its famous chicken tenders while you’re watching the Boston World Cup matches, then throw a couple rounds of Skee-ball or pop out on the dance floor while you wait for the next match to get underway.

The Bleacher Bar

Bleacher Bar in Boston offers one of the most unforgettable settings in the country to watch sports, soccer or otherwise. It’s under the bleachers of Fenway Park’s center field and built into the stadium’s original structure, with a massive garage-style window that opens directly onto the field. While baseball may be king in the summer, Bleacher Bar transforms into a passionate soccer hub during major international tournaments. During the 2022 World Cup, it drew standing-room-only crowds for high-stakes matchups, and 2026 is expected to be no different.

It has a cavernous brick interior, and being level with the stadium makes it feel like you’re actually at a sporting event. There are plenty of TVs and a long bar, plus it’s easily accessible from the Fenway T stop. It’s likely going to be one of the most popular Boston soccer bars when the World Cup rolls around, so get there early — dedicated fans can fill it fast on match days. It’s open seven days a week whether or not there’s anything happening at Fenway.
