Thanksgiving Special: 8 Greatest Eating Contests

7. Wing Bowl–February; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. What started out as a radio host’s stunt has turned into one of Philadelphia’s larger fringe sporting events. Competitors are expected to clean off as many chicken wings in 14 minutes as they can. The 2010 winner broke the record with a nauseating 241 wings, and drove off in a new Ford F-150 truck.

8. Thanksgiving Turkey Eating Contest–November, New York, NY. On Thanksgiving Eve, the IOFCE hosts this contest to polish off a 10-pound stuffed turkey. Nothing is quite like watching the victorious petite woman, who, like Kobayashi, is a tiny “eating machine.”

Happy Thanksgiving!
