Follow the Truckee River upstream from Reno and you'll run right into Pyramid Lake, which sits within the Pyramid Lake Paiute tribe Indian Reservation. As a visitor, you have the privilege of experiencing lands and waters that are sacred to the local people, going back more than 10,000 years. (Please keep this in mind and travel with respect.)
The lake is rich with cutthroat trout and other fish. To stay comfortable while you fish, use a ladder / fishing chair to sit up above the water, and take in the silence and stillness of this incredible place—that is, until you get a fish on the line!
