Some places are magical in the daytime. Others really come alive at night. For Idaho’s Stanley Lake, both realms have an almost otherworldly beauty. At the base of the Sawtooth range, Stanley Lake is a high alpine setting with multiple campgrounds, wild hot springs, and great access to the water.

And nights here are absolutely epic. The first designated Dark Sky Reserve in the U.S., the views of the Milky Way here are so vivid they’ll completely change the way you think about stars in the night sky.
