Located in West Sumba, Indonesia, the Weekacura Waterfalls are hidden among lush tropical forests. It’s possible to reach them via a two-hour drive through winding mountain roads, followed by another hour’s trek through dense jungle terrain. Though it may be difficult to get there, it’s worth it for those who make the effort.
The falls themselves are made up of three tiers cascading down a rocky slope with spectacular views from each level. At around 50 feet high, they create an impressive sight that can be seen from miles away on a clear day. As you approach the top tier, you will be met with roaring sound from cascading water and mist that rises from its depths. There are also numerous smaller waterfalls located in the area surrounding Weekacura – so visitors can see multiple waterfalls for the price of one.
