IF YOU LIVE IN OHIO AND WANT to find a date online, you’ll probably be pretty safe talking about bonfires. In Texas, you should mention oil, and in Mississippi, you’ve just got to say, “Lookin’.” At least that’s what Mashable found when they asked Match.com to identify the words that appear most frequently in the dating profiles of people from certain states (as compared to relative infrequency in the rest of the country).

What they found is illuminating and kind of hilarious. Missourians, for example, love their zoos. Oregonians and Idahoans love kayaking, while Californians tend to be hung up on their relative lack of water these days. A note: it does not show in this map, but Delaware’s word is “Amusement.”
