Anne Krapu

Anne is originally from rural North Dakota, which probably helped foster her innate desire to escape to far flung locales. She used the Open Curriculum at Brown to take every social science course possible related to how humanity could destroy itself and is now in the process of exploring these ideas on the ground (occasionally in some rough neighborhoods). As an optimist, however, she works in the field of international education and has staffed multiple statewide campaigns for the Democratic Party in ND. In her spare time, she taste-tests odd energy drinks, watches bad Russian rap videos on YouTube, complains about the restructuring of Delta's Skymiles program, and practices shooting skills on an air-rifle.

I lived in Beijing during military lockdown. Here’s why I’ll never go back.
