Portland, Oregon is characterized by its location on the Willamette River which separates the east and west sides of the city. The river can be crossed on one of Portland’s oldest bridges such as the Hawthorne or the newest, the Tilikum crossing. The combination of these bridges with the Willamette River and Mt. Hood and Mt. St Helens on the horizon, create a skyline unlike any other in the country.
