Dublin Is Getting a James Joyce-Inspired Museum Dedicated to Irish Literature

The museum, inspired by one of Ireland’s greatest writers, James Joyce, will feature a variety of literary items from the National Library collections, like the first copy of James Joyce’s Ulysses and handwritten notes about the novel. A Joycean research library will also be available.

Visitors can expect to find a courtyard cafe and bookstore, contemporary artistic commissions, guided tours, and temporary exhibitions throughout the year. The museum will also have an original broadcasting studio, where interviews, readings, and discussions with writers, poets, and artists will be recorded and broadcast 24 hours all day on the museum’s digital radio.

MoLI will open on Friday, September 20, as part of Culture Night (from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM and free). The museum will officially open on Saturday, September 21, at 10:00 AM, with tickets priced at around $9 per person.
