As if cruising the Nile wasn’t already the trip of a lifetime, Uniworld is upping the ante with its Egyptian river cruise onboard the S.S. Sphinx, a ship so opulent it seems straight out of a movie.

From the outside it may look like a regular ship, but step in and you’ll be transported to a world of luxury you thought was only possible on a Hollywood set.

There are 42 suites onboard, all appointed with fine Egyptian cotton linens and beautifully decorated with locally hand-carved wood and marble. The wallpaper, the furniture, the carpet, and the light fixtures are so lavish they could make passengers weak in the knees. Let’s not even mention the bathroom, which is a truly extravagant place to brush your teeth.

It wouldn’t be a luxury Egyptian river cruise without upscale amenities. The ship has a massage room, a swimming pool, and two dining venues — all of which are palatial, of course.

The S.S. Sphinx gives the Karnak, the glamorous river steamer featured in the latest Hercule Poirot movie, Death on the Nile, a run for its money. And while Gal Gadot won’t be throwing grand parties on the S.S. Sphinx, there also won’t be a murder to solve, so it’s pretty much a win for Uniworld. The movies comes out on February 11, 2022, but in the meantime, you can compare and contrast which of the two ships is the most grand by checking out the trailer.

Nile cruises on the S.S. Sphinx take 12 days and travel between Luxor to Dendera in the north and all the way to Aswan in the south. Passengers aboard this Egyptian river cruise will get to tick all the big items on their Egypt’s must-see list, including the Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx, the ruins of the Temple of Karnak and more.

The Uniworld Egyptian river cruise can be booked for 2022 and 2023, with prices starting at $6,799.
