Just before the release of the final season in April of this year, this ice hotel in Finland is taking on a Game of Thrones aesthetic. Lapland Hotels SnowVillage, located in the town of Kittilä, 125 miles above the Arctic Circle, has been created based on scenes and characters from Game of Thrones. This is the second year in a row that the SnowVillage picked GoT as its theme.
‘Game of Thrones’-Themed Ice Hotel Is Coming Back to Finland
In addition to featuring realistic environments like the Sept of Baelor and Iron Throne, and even a life-like dragon, the hotel will have 16 suites with unique GoT-inspired ice sculptures. To really make you feel like you’re hunkering down for the Long Night, the hotel is just 23 degrees Fahrenheit, but you’ll be provided with a very warm sleeping bag. The hotel does, however, recommend that guests spend only one night in the snow suites and the rest of their stay in one of the hotel’s cozy cabins.
If you’re planning to join houses with a partner, there’s even an ice chapel decorated with reindeer hides and candles. The village also has an Ice Restaurant serving local fare like reindeer and arctic char. And, of course, it wouldn’t be a snow village without an Ice Bar where you can enjoy chilled cocktails made with Nordic ingredients.
Entry to the SnowVillage is just $20, while a stay at the hotel starts at $550. The hotel will be open until April 21, 2019.
