The World's Largest Marriott Is in Orlando, and It's the Best Family Resort Near Disney

And yet, despite its size, what surprised me most was how family-friendly it felt. For toddlers, every hallway becomes a new discovery, every pool a place they refuse to leave, every restaurant an event, and every elevator ride a thrilling experience. You can spend the morning at the water park, retreat for an afternoon nap, then head back out for mini golf, a laser show, or dinner — all without leaving the resort grounds.

My husband, toddler, and I stayed in a traditional guest room with one king bed, and the hotel staff kindly provided a crib for our little one. Our room overlooked the pool, which added a lively view without being loud or overwhelming.

It had everything we needed, including a built-in desk that meant I could actually get some work done. The balcony became one of our favorite spots — coffee and laptops every morning, and at night we’d watch the resort’s laser show with faint glimpses of fireworks over Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom in the distance.

The three of us had plenty of room, but what stood out most was how the hotel caters to so many different types of travelers. From family-friendly bunk bed suites perfect for parents with kids, to larger configurations like executive and ambassador suites, all the way up to expansive two-bedroom governor suites.

The water features alone could keep little ones entertained for days — a 575-foot lazy river, seven water slides, a splash zone for toddlers, and a massive lagoon-style pool.

Beyond sun and swimming, there’s a mini golf course for an afternoon out, an arcade packed with games for all ages — my daughter discovered the claw machine, won a few rubber ducks, and carried them directly to the pool — plus classic lawn games like cornhole scattered throughout the property. The resort staff also host organized activities and games throughout the day, which keeps the energy up for guests of all ages.

Any parent knows the best vacation with little ones comes down to balance — kid-friendly fun alongside a little adult time. There’s a full-service spa, an 18-hole championship course at Hawk’s Landing Golf Club, and a fitness center for when you actually want to move.

I’m fully a pool-food person at heart. Put me by the water with a frozen drink, a basket of chicken tenders and fries, and I’m more than happy — and the Falls Pool Bar & Grill delivers exactly that. But there’s a Japanese steakhouse, a lively lobby bar, Starbucks for morning coffee, and the Central Pantry, my personal favorite: part grab-and-go market, part casual eatery, with everything from soda, chips, and cookies to a hot menu with quesadillas, personal pizzas, and more.

One night, we grabbed a few items from the Central Pantry and ate outside in one of the resort’s soft seating areas. It ended up being one of my favorite meals of the entire stay — off-the-cuff, and exactly the sort of moment that makes a big resort feel personal.

The scale of the resort makes it tempting to never leave the property, but because sits 1.5 miles from Walt Disney World, a shuttle service to all four parks is included in the resort fee. For Disney fans, it removes a logistical headache and makes getting to the parks seamless. Disney Springs service varies, so confirm current routing with the hotel when you book.

Fly into Orlando International Airport (MCO) and rent a car — it’s about a 20-to-30-minute drive depending on traffic. The hotel offers both self-parking in its garage and valet service. If you don’t plan on exploring much beyond the resort, a rideshare from the airport works well and saves you the cost of daily parking.
