Flowers and chocolates are fine, but as Valentine’s Day gifts, they can’t really compare to getting a dog. Coors Light knows that very well so it has launched a campaign called “The Official Beer of Skipping Cuffing Season,” designed to take the pressure off Valentine’s Day for young drinkers and, instead of rushing into an ill-fated relationship, encourage them to adopt a dog instead.
To this end, Coors Light will cover the adoption fees of 1,000 shelter dogs from February 4 to 21. As long as you’re 21 years old or over and reside in the US (excluding California, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia) you’re eligible for the promotion. All you have to do is adopt a dog and text “COORS4k9” and a picture of the adoption receipt to 21830. Coors will review all the entries, and present 1,000 new dog owners with $100 each to put toward the application fees. Full contest rules are available on Coors’ website.
