While many in the eating-competition world know of IFOCE’s La Costena Jalapeno Eating Contest, this championship in Finland ups the heat ante with the world’s hottest chili, the naga morich or “ghost chili.” Whereas a jalapeno contains 2,500-8,000 Scoville heat units, a ghost chili contains over 1 million. The winner gets a free trip to the UK’s Fiery Foods Festival.
