Adaptive mountain biking unites father and son on NC trail

Spinal cord surgery left Scott Shepard unable to ride NC’s celebrated mountain bike trails. When a local organization offered an adaptive bike, it allowed Scott the chance to pedal with 11-year-old son Nathan for the first time. Their uplifting story reflects the value of accessibility and the joy of pursuing a shared passion.
