Vashi have a habit of teaming up with mega-talented illustrators to create beautiful homages to love. First there were 29 untranslatable words that describe love perfectly, followed by heartwarming Valentine’s traditions from around the world. But these love idioms by Elly Walton may just be my favorite.

In Germany, “to have eaten a monkey” means to be crazy about someone; in Japan “a flower on a high peak” means an unobtainable object of desire. Who knew?
