Living abroad for so long has really made me come to appreciate a darn good burger no matter where I am. I am a big foodie when I travel — yes, one of those people who takes pictures of every meal. Yet sometimes I just get sick of the local food and find myself craving a fat, juicy burger for dinner. Whether you’re an expat-immigrant, a picky eater, or like Ron Swanson, enjoy a little beer every now and again, here’s a burger trail you’ll want to follow.
Stereotypical to a tee, the USA is home to more mouthwatering burgers than I can count. From hot and humid Florida to the green and fresh Pacific Northwest, burger joints dot the landscape. Surprisingly, crazy burger goodness can be also be found in the culinary meccas of Italy and Japan. Yes, devour the local cuisine there but if you’re interested in a little something different, try their take on the old-fashioned beef patty.
Asia and the South Pacific are also cornucopias full of burgers and fries ready to be worked off at the gym the next day. Singapore’s wealth of expat-frequented hotspots have noted the hunger for hamburgers and have delivered accordingly. These places provide perfect opportunities to mix it up on your travels whether you’re at home or abroad!

Vortex Bar & GrillAtlanta, United StatesLow-key burger bar with good whiskey. Good music and an excellent option when you crave nachos (holaaaa, borracho nachos!), tater tots (I’ll have 2 orders of the Dixie wrecked taters ASAP pronto, please!) and obviously a good burger. I like the Black & Blue (Cajun all day, baby). If you’re feeling ambitious, order the Zombie Apocalypse. You’ll need lots of napkins and luck for that one. Probably a whiskey, too. #burger #cheap-eats
Potato Head FolkSingapore, SingaporePotato Head Folk, also found in Bali and Hong Kong, has an extensive list of burgers to feed your appetite. A little expensive but what in Singapore isn’t ?, prepare to spend anywhere from $15 to $26 for a burger. Side not included. If you decide to splurge on one of their burgers, you will be glad you did #burgers #food #drinks #singapore

BacoaBarcelona, SpainBacoa boasts as being the best Hamburgueseria in town, and in all of it’s 5 joints around Barcelona, it does not disappoint. Head to their site at Barceloneta beach for their cool but friendly (English speaking) waiters, quick service and perfect location close to the famous ‘cubes’ sculpture. A great spot for people watching or looking out into the beautiful blue, while taking in that fresh sea air.
Choose your bread type and meat type combined with their home made toppings and sauces. With a wide range of choice and reasonable price it’s the perfect end to a day at the beach!

8bitMelbourne, AustraliaFood was good, recommend for the experience but it shouldn’t be eaten every day. I had the Chicken and Mayo burger, chips and a peanut-butter milkshake. Probably the largest burger I’ve ever had.
