9 Breakfast Spots You Have to Try in Chicago

Chicago Restaurants + Bars Insider Guides
by Jennifer Billock Oct 20, 2016

My favorite breakfast place in Chicago (rest its soul) was a great little storefront eatery focusing on homemade corned beef hash. Every day, they’d offer a different specialty hash, all delicious and all inexpensive. I ate there every weekend.

It’s long since closed, but thankfully, breakfast is something the city knows how to do right. Whether it’s my beloved hash, or omelets, or pancakes, or eggs benedict, we’ve got your morning nourishment needs covered.

We may be known for some decidedly dinner foods — Chicago-style pizza and Chicago dogs — but don’t think that means our other meals are just so-so. We mined travelstoke®, a new app from Matador, to bring you this selection of best breakfasts and brunches in Chicago.
