The Oklahoma zoo of infamous Joe Exotic, who reached celebrity status after the popularity of Netflix’s Tiger King documentary, is now under new ownership. And it’s no one but Carole Baskin, Exotic’s rival, also featured in the documentary, who gained control of the facility.

Baskin is already the owner of the Big Cat Rescue in Tampa, Florida, and after Exotic failed to pay the $1 million he owed her in copyright and trademark suits, she has gained ownership of the famous Wynnewood, Oklahoma, zoo.

Exotic is currently in prison, guilty of 17 counts of animal abuse and murder-for-hire plot against Baskin. During his incarceration, the zoo has been under the stewardship of Jeff Lowe and Exotic’s mother, Shirley Schreibvogel. According to Baskin, the zoo had been fraudulently transferred to the pair to avoid being seized by Exotic’s creditors, including herself.

Although a flurry of troubling rumors surround Baskin, such as claims that she murdered her husband and fed him to her tigers, none have been substantiated.
