Even if you missed last year’s pastry chef job opening, know that there’s still a chance for you to work in Buckingham Palace. The Queen is looking for a Demi Chef de Partie to work full-time at the palace. The starting salary isn’t very much, but the perks are more than worth it; in exchange for your services, you will receive $27,623 per year, free room and board in Buckingham Palace, and a 15 percent employer contribution pension scheme.
The Queen Is Looking for a New Chef That Will Get to Live in Buckingham Palace
The job posting reads, “Standards are exceptionally high here, and every day is busy, so you’ll need to be an ambitious and qualified chef. You may have some previous experience within a premier kitchen or volume catering environment, but it’s your ability and enthusiasm to deliver across all sections of the kitchen that we’re looking for. This role will be based in London, and will involve traveling to other Royal residences.”
Unfortunately, whoever actually gets the job won’t be able to brag about it to anyone. Philippa Smith, managing director of Silver Swan Recruitment Agency, said to Insider, “Neither us nor the candidates can disclose who they are working for to third parties. There is also a ban on social media — as in nothing whatsoever about their role, the family, the location or any other details can be posted online.”
To apply for the role, check out the official job posting. Applications will be accepted until July 28.
