JetBlue Is Giving 100,000 Healthcare Workers Round-Trip Flights for Two

If anyone deserves a free vacation, it’s the healthcare workers on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic. Every day, these and other essential workers put their own health at risk to ensure patients get the care they need. And to honor and thank them for their efforts, JetBlue is giving away 100,000 vouchers for two free round-trip flights — a total of 200,000 free flights for healthcare workers and their loved ones.

Joanna Geraghty, president and chief operating officer of JetBlue, said in a statement, “JetBlue’s mission of inspiring humanity is stronger now more than ever. We applaud the healthcare workers who are helping us get through this challenging time and inspiring humanity along the way. This is an opportunity for us to fly it forward and show our appreciation for the heroic efforts of medical professionals, first responders and public servants — not just here in our home of New York but around the country as well.”

You can nominate a friend or family member working in healthcare by filling in a short form with the nominee’s first name, last initial, hometown, and a short description about their service. Nominations are open until May 15, and the vouchers are valid indefinitely.

Ninety-thousand pairs of certificates will be awarded to the pool of applicants, while the remaining 10,000 will be distributed among workers at the Mount Sinai Health System and NYC Health + Hospitals.

People might not be flocking to airports for vacations en masse right now, but when they do, healthcare workers should certainly be among the first to take a long-overdue trip. So if you have a loved one working in healthcare, take some time to show your gratitude.
