The Green Door Hobbit Cottage looks a lot like it’s described. It’s a triangle-shaped tiny home that sort of resembles a miniature barn with a green wooden for some flair. Besides being made of painted wood, the fact that the Airbnb is located on the Enchanted Oaks Farm in central Florida (roughly 1.5 hours northwest of Orlando) really helps to sell its barnyard look. The farm’s resident zebra, cow, goat, peacocks, and other animals are the cherry on top of the hay bale.

According to past reviews, feeding Zippy the zebra is a highlight of the experience for many guests, particularly those with children in tow. Fit for two, the hobbit cottage offers VIP access to the animals — so much so that you can feed them right from your window — but there are also other campsites on the 8.5-acre farm if you’re coming with a bigger group. The cottage itself is basically just a sheltered bed — with power and AC in the summertime but no heat — but guests have access to gas grills, fire rings, and communal restrooms and showers.

While you’re in Ocala, aptly nicknamed the “horse capital of the world,” you might consider visiting Silver Springs State Park to embrace even more nature, or the Fort King National Historic landmark to learn a bit of military history. Or maybe you just want to hang out with Zippy the Zebra. Either way, you can’t go wrong staying at the Green Door Hobbit Cottage.
