The Most Beautiful Views in Montenegro Are Tucked Away at This Hilltop Cafe

Of course, most passersby come to enjoy the views over some food. One of the most popular things to enjoy at Horizont Cafe is a glass of wine or beer paired with local cured meats and cheeses or a platter of Mediterranean produce such as tomatoes, cucumbers, and olives. Earlier in the day, it’s an excellent place to start the morning with a cup of coffee. (Note that some reviewers have mentioned that only beverages were served during their visits.)

The much-photographed platform that put Horizont Cafe on the map is relatively small, giving patrons the feeling of having the idyllic setting all to themselves, but there are plenty of picnic-style tables cascading down the hillside on a large terraced stone patio. There’s more seating inside the actual restaurant building, along with a telescope set up to admire the views.

Sunrise and sunset are the most coveted hours to visit Horizont Cafe. Just be careful driving there when the lighting is dim — the cafe is located up a series of beautiful yet precarious hairpin turns. Once you see the view at your destination, however, you’ll know it was worth it.
