A member of the Auberge Resorts Collection, Solage Resort & Spa is a chic yet homey hideaway in Calistoga, California, a town in Napa Valley that’s known for its hot springs. Along with the resort’s proximity to wine country, these hot springs are the star attraction at Solage, which has built out an 20,000 square foot spa complete with a variety geothermal pools ranging from cold plunges to hot tubs, as well as treatments, enhancements, and fitness classes. An obvious choice for couples, Solage is equally inviting for families, friends, and singles in need of peace and pampering — and you can even bring your dog along to join in on the fun.

Solage Resort & Spa offers two types of accommodations: studios and suites. Studios are resort-style rooms with more amenities than you’d expect of a typical resort room, such as semi-private furnished patios, pebble-stone floor showers, and possibly an in-studio fireplace. Suites are larger cottage-style accommodations with either one or two bedrooms. Suite amenities include spacious private outdoor areas with jacuzzis and fire pits, supremely livable communal areas, large flat-screen TVs, and top-notch bedding and linens.
There are two dining options at Solage Resort & Spa. The full-service restaurant is called Solbar, which is spread out across a traditional dining room and an outdoor dining area that’s kept cozy by a 20-foot fire pit. The food at Solbar is farm-to-table in true Northern California style, although the menu gets its inspiration from cuisines all over the world. Guests can also grab quicker meals and snacks at Solage’s Picobar poolside restaurant. The theme there is “modern Mexican cuisine” with a slant toward California flavors.
When you’re relaxing in a poolside cabana, in your room, or at the spa, Solage Resort & Spa also organizes activities that showcase the best of the area, from scenic hikes and hot-air balloon rides over Napa Valley to after-hours tastings at the historic Chateau Montelena Winery. You can also spend your days exploring Napa wineries on your own, though you’ll want to check if your pooch is welcome there too — after all, that’s part of what makes Solage so special.
Rooms start at $900 per night, plus $150 per dog.
