Allowing dogs into movie theaters might seem like a no-brainer to dog lovers, yet it’s not commonplace. K9 Cinemas in Plano, Texas, is revolutionizing the cinema industry — one dog at a time. K9 Cinemas opened at the end of 2018, with the goal of allowing patrons to enjoy their favorite movies with their favorite canine pals. And it gets better. In addition to being able to watch movies with your dog by your side, your ticket also includes unlimited wine (or four glasses of whiskey). Between these two perks, you might forget the movie itself, but you certainly won’t forget the experience.

The theater is the brainchild of Eric Lankford, who started it after he noticed a gap in the cinema market. Adding to the theater’s vibe, it doesn’t show any new releases, but you can catch an older film or even special TV show screenings. For example, the cinema just hosted a Game of Thrones viewing party for the series finale.

A ticket for one human, one dog, and unlimited wine costs just $15. And you can even bring a second dog for an extra $5 (but no more than two dogs are allowed per person). Before showing up, stock up on some bags because you’re required to clean up after your dog. Also, on your first visit you’ll need to provide papers from your vet proving that your dog has all the necessary vaccinations.
