Skiing Down a Glacier Is Just as Badass as It Sounds

MOST PEOPLE DON’T PREFER TO hit ice pack while they’re skiing. They also don’t usually like to risk falling into a crevasse, or getting caught in an avalanche, or running straight into a wall of ice. Sam Favret is not most people. He skied through the Mer de Glace (the “sea of ice”) in France. It is literally a ski run through a glacier, and it is both spectacular and terrifying.

Favret is a third generation skiier from Chamonix, which makes him a local to this part of the French Alps. This short video is just a trailer for a longer 46 minute video available for rent on Vimeo.
