USING DATA from the United Nations’ Department of Economic and Social affairs that monitors global population trends, Max Galka, the man behind Metrocosm, created a map of the European Union’s diaspora.

The United Kingdom is the EU country who has the most citizens living abroad (4.9 million), followed by Poland (4.4 million), Germany (4 million), and Romania (3.4 million).

If we compare Galka’s map to Jakub Marian’s “Mapped: Where do Europeans emigrate to?“, we’ll observe where most emigrants go to once they leave their home country — UK citizens emigrate mostly to Australia, German citizens’ favorite emigration destination is the US, Polish citizens’ is Germany, and Romanian citizens’ is Italy.

Are you a citizen of the European Union? Where have you moved to? Let us know by leaving a comment.
