THE Matador Creators Community is for you, the travel media producer, no matter what stage you’re at in your career or hobby. There are many tools that can help you progress and improve your skills, and there’s also an entire community who are right there with you ready to share experiences and wisdom. To make the most of your free membership, here are 6 things you can do to make sure you’re taking full advantage of this platform.
First things first. If you don’t yet have a free account, sign up here.
Complete your profile in as much detail as possible
Having a photo-less profile with a 2-sentence bio isn’t going to do anything for you. Instead, hit all these points to get noticed:
- Upload a headshot of yourself
- Write a detailed and personable bio that shows off your personality, your passions and goals, and your experience
- Include your website and any social media channels
- Add your published work
- Upload media you want to share
Matador editors and the production team are constantly scouring the community for talent for any number of projects. The more they know about you — the better you present yourself — the more chance you’ll stand out and get noticed.

Engage in the Forum
There’s a full spectrum of talent and experience in the community. If you’re new to all of this, feel free to ask any questions. If you’ve been around the block, it’s time to give back and lend a hand to those who need it. Use the different rooms to get specific about topics like filming and photography gear, writing techniques, travel advice, social media, and much more.
From time to time the Matador team will use the Forum to seek out specific talent and commission community members for paying gigs. Make your voice heard!

The Marketplace is where we post all sorts of opportunities, from press trips to submissions calls to jobs to contests, and everything in between. If you don’t want to miss any you can subscribe by going into your profile settings and opt in for the Marketplace email notification.
Collaborate with other members
In the creative world, collaborating with others can be a very enriching experience and can produce a work quality that otherwise would not be possible. Use the Members section to seek out other community members who share the same interests, who might be in the same city as you, and who has skills that would complement yours.
