This overwhelming display of good parenting might make you rethink your own Christmas gift to your child. Hal Vaughn, the father of Delta flight attendant Pierce Vaughn, flew around the country with his daughter on Christmas Day, just so he could spend the holiday with her. She was scheduled to work on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, but to Hal, that didn’t mean she had to spend the holiday alone in the skies. He joined Pierce on her flights from Fort Myers, Florida, to Detroit, Michigan, and then from Detroit to Hartford, Connecticut.

Hal used his daughter’s family travel benefits — which include free or reduced travel for parents — to book the flights. In a Facebook post, Pierce wrote, “Dad’s first trip using his benefits was a success! A special thanks to all of the patient, wonderful gate agents around the country and my perfect crew. He made it on every flight and even got first class RSW-DTW (Christmas miracle).”

She also shared two photos taken by another passenger, Mike Levy, who was sitting next to Hal during his flight to Detroit. In his own Facebook post, Levy wrote that Hal “is flying on each of her flights today and tomorrow around the country to spend time with his daughter for Christmas. What a fantastic father!”
