Almost everyone hates the New England Patriots, but this is one occasion when you actually have to give the team props. Since Massachusetts governor Charlie Baker was unable to procure medical supplies from the federal government, he worked with Patriots’ owner Bob Kraft to have these supplies flown in from China. And they’re being delivered aboard the Patriots’ team plane.

The plane will be loaded with 1.2 million N95 protective masks, which are set to be distributed to the state’s healthcare workers. Kraft also purchased an additional 300,000 protective masks for New York State, showing there truly are no hard feelings between the rival regions.

In a statement, Kraft said, “It is an honor for our family to be a part of this humanitarian mission. We knew that purchasing greatly-needed N95 masks and providing the Patriots plane to expedite their delivery to local hospitals would immediately help protect our courageous healthcare professionals.”

The plane is set to land in Boston on Thursday afternoon, with another shipment of 500,000 masks scheduled for early next week.

Governor Baker said in a statement, “The Krafts, our partners Ambassador Huang Ping, Dr. Jason Li, Gene Hartigan and our COVID-19 Command Center personnel teamed up to get this job done and we eagerly await the plane landing at Logan Airport soon. Our administration will keep pursuing the PPE necessary to support our brave front-line workers who are working tirelessly to save lives during this pandemic.”
