Why would anyone want to spend a week in the desert? That’s what many people might think when they first hear about Burning Man. Others will take you their bucket list and place the festival on the top. This is not just any festival, it might even be inaccurate to refer to it as that. Burning Man is an experience. Or, as many attendees will tell you, Burning Man is home.

Shot by Matadorian Jessica Devnani, this video is a collection of people explaining why they think of the event as “home.” There are many different reasons, but one that seems to be repeated by everyone is that the festival is a place where you can be yourself. A place where everyone accepts you, where everyone is friendly and helpful. A place you feel you belong to. In other words, home.
