With climate change threatening the food sources of millions, 11 African nations have joined together to plant the “Great Green Wall”: a wall of trees that will stretch 5,000 miles across the southern border of the Sahara desert. From Senegal to Eritrea, residents are hoping that the wall will prevent desertification. Good news: evidence suggests it is already working.
