Narita Airport is one of Tokyo’s two major international airports, but unfortunately, it’s located over an hour from the center of the city. That means once you land, you need to figure out how to get into the city. It’s not necessarily complicated, but it does require some planning ahead.

About 37 miles east of central Tokyo, Narita Airport serves as a hub for several international airlines, including Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airways. It handles a large volume of international and domestic flights, and houses a range of restaurants, shops, and lounges. If you’re traveling to Tokyo, there’s a good chance you’ll be coming through this airport.

Here are a few ways to get into Tokyo from Narita Airport.

Narita Express

This is a fast and convenient train service that takes you directly from Narita Airport to major stations in Tokyo, such as Tokyo Station, Shinjuku Station, and Shibuya Station. The journey takes around 60-90 minutes depending on your destination.

Limousine Bus

This is a more comfortable and affordable way to travel from Narita Airport to popular destinations in downtown Tokyo. The bus stops at major hotels and train stations in Tokyo, and the journey takes around 60-100 minutes depending on your destination.

Keisei Skyliner

This is a fast and direct train service that takes you from Narita Airport to Ueno Station in the heart of Tokyo. The journey takes around 45-50 minutes, and the trains are comfortable and modern.

Taxi

Taxis are available at Narita Airport, but they can be expensive, especially during peak hours. It is recommended to use taxis for shorter distances within Tokyo itself.
