Home to the Serengeti plain and Kilimanjaro, the continent’s highest peak, Tanzania is a popular destination for many travelers to Africa’s eastern coast.

The capital, Dar es Salaam, can be easily reached directly by air or, for the more adventurous, by the three-day TAZARA Express from Kapiri Mposhi in Zambia which passes through a number of game reserves on its slow, often unpredictably-timed journey.
